Thunderbird Artists is excited to partner with the Carefree/Cave Creek Chamber of Commerce for the Town of Carefree’s final signature event of the season - the 24th Annual Carefree Fine Art & Wine Festival in March. The festival will feature jeweler, Harold Lujan, and live music by legendary Flamenco guitarist, ESTEBAN, and his daughter, violinist, Teresa Joy!

Harold Lujan has spent the last 30 years developing his own unique style of jewelry that are one of a kind sculptures in themselves. He utilizes semi-precious stones, which he cultivates himself from throughout the world, then cuts and shapes them all by hand. He is also an expert metalsmith and avid hunter, which are both reflected in his work. By combining his two passions, he has the opportunity to unite his love of working with his hands and love for the wild to create pieces that feature porcupine quills, fossilized mammoth tusk or elk and deer teeth.

In addition to Harold, this festival features 150 juried, world-class artists displaying over 5,000 original pieces of artwork in a variety of mediums. Wine tasting, ice cold microbrews, as well as rum sampling, are offered for patrons who choose to purchase a souvenir wine or beer glass, with six tasting tickets, for $10. The event will also host food trucks and sweet treats onsite.

The Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion will come alive with live performers and provide background music for attendees to enjoy while tasting fine wines and indulging in delicious sweets. Esteban will be performing with his daughter, violinist Teresa Joy, in the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion in downtown Carefree from 10am to 5pm, all three days.

Esteban has been playing the guitar since he was eight years old. Self-taught for most of his early years, his talent stunned everyone who heard him play. He attended Carnegie Mellon University and studied with legendary classical guitarist, Andres Segovia, in the 4th floor studio on Avenida Concha Espina in Spain. He began touring in the United States soon after and experienced some of the most memorable times in his life.

Then an accident occurred and, due to a hand injury, Esteban was unable to play the guitar for 10 years. Eventually, through dedication and love of music, he began to again play the guitar he so loved. Since that time, Esteban has topped the billboard charts many times with his numerous albums, videos and DVD's. He had a full feature article in People Magazine, as well as thousands of accolades from newspapers, magazines and dedicated fans. With each performance he continues to astound crowds all over the nation; touching the hearts of listeners with his sensational sound and expressive music.

Teresa Joy is known for combining violin and dance together, she makes her instrument sing with a voice that touches hearts. She has made a name for herself in the music world, but loves the opportunity to join her father and perform together.

Also performing at the festival, from 10am to 5pm all three days, will be the Andres Martin Leal Latin Band, guitarist and vocalist’s Chuck Hall and Gina Machovina and Native American flutist, Vibhas Kendzia.

This fine art event, widely known as “…a Collector’s Paradise”™, will take place in the heart of downtown Carefree, surrounded by beautiful gardens emphasizing the plants and cacti indigenous to the Arizona desert.  Hours are 10am to 5pm each day. Admission is $3.00 and parking is free all weekend. Join Thunderbird Artists, world-class artists and more at the Carefree Fine Art & Wine Festival, March 1st, 2nd & 3rd, 2019!
